Creating a VEN in the EPRI VTN
EPRI OpenADR 2.0b Virtual Top Node (VTN) open source software permits testing the GRIDlink for OpenADR signals.
Create a new VEN
Accounts > select Create VEN next to your user name.
Identification
Create a VEN name and Common Name. We recommend to use the serial number of the unit in both names.
Click “Create VEN“
VEN ID
The VEN ID is issued by the VTN
Copy the VEN ID
Click “Save”
Paste the venID into the INI file of GRIDview in replacement of the default venID
Change the Status of the file to “Pending”
Click “Save”
Registration
VENs > Select VEN > View/Edit > Registrations
Select Queue VEN Reregister
Confirm Registration
The GRIDlink VTN connection LED may be ON but is not registered and shows offline with the VTN. It will not respond to Event signals until registered.
